ANDERSSON DANCE @ MALLORCA LANDINGS AND MUSEUM OF CONTEMPORARY ART ES BALUARD

4 - 15 JANUARY 2012

Dance relates to architecture through its direct physical relation to spatiality. Mallorca Landings invites  Andersson Dance from Sweden to perform “Art Hall Project”, consisting of dancers from Israel, Norway and the US. Both for a residency/working period and a co-lab with The Museum of Contemporary Art, Palma with a unique performance in the Aljub-room.

Örjan Andersson, choreographer and the company’s artistic director, is one of Sweden’s most established choreographers who now visits Mallorca for the first time with dancers from his project company Andersson Dance. Based on certain choreographic sequences the choreographer and the dancers inhabit rooms at museums and arthalls, making each performance at each new location unique.

Örjan Andersson lives and works in Stockholm, Sweden and tours and co-produces nationally and internationally. His choreography is characterized by a constant curiosity about space and composition, and space for the individual dancer’s own expression.
